Lorde’s Pure Heroine has sold one million copies in the US, the first debut album to do so since country artist Hunter Hayes’ self-titled set did so last October.

Pure Heroine is also the first debut album by a female artist to achieve this milestone since Adele’s 19 in April 3, 2011.

The record is currently sitting at #6 on the Billboard Albums chart, having sold a further 30,000 copies in the past week to push it over the one million mark. Pure Heroine has spent the last nine weeks in the top 10 of the chart.

Pure Heroine currently sits at #11 on the ARIA Albums chart, having been certified double-Platinum.
