Polyester Records is closing its Melbourne CBD store in Flinders Lane after six years, citing escalating rent charges for its decision.

Owners Nate Nott and Simon Karis will focus on Polyester’s original store on Fitzroy’s Brunswick Street, which opened 30 years ago.

A closing date is to be determined with the building’s real estate agent but Nott and Karis hope to be still operating on Record Store Day on Saturday, April 19.
