Melbourne’s Cherry Bar confirms it’s moving to a new location
After months of speculation, the move is now confirmed.

After months of speculation, one of Melbourne’s foremost live music venues, Cherry Bar, has confirmed it will be leaving AC/DC Lane after March 31
Co-owner and booker James Young said in a statement:
"It is my intention to take the name, the staff and the sticky carpet to a new Melbourne address with a long lease and a safe and secure future for live local music and late night rock n roll revelry."
Young said he is currently in negotiation with no less than ten venue spaces as possible future homes.
Cherry Bar seemed at home at AC/DC Lane as hard rock aficionado Young was one of those who led the campaign to name the laneway after the iconic rock band.
Last year, the Herald Sun broke the news that the venue's lease had been taken over by Nick and Daniel Russian of Eve nightclub.

A few weeks later, Young went on Triple M to emphasise that the club would be moving and had not changed hands.
