Ed Sheeran’s tour of New Zealand has already sold more than any other artist, with over 200,000 tickets snapped up earlier this week.

But a post by promoter Frontier Touring suggests more shows could be added.

It reported, “We’re currently in discussions with Ed’s team about the possibility of additional shows. Stay tuned for more news on that front."

Sheeran is performing at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium on March 24, 25 and 26, and at Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium on March 29 and 31.

He has set a new attendance record in New Zealand just months after Adele set a new high of 130,000 tickets from three shows at Mt. Smart Stadium.

With temporary extra grandstands set up at the stadium, she sold nearly 40,000 more than any other act in Auckland.

Of all the Sheeran NZ shows, only the third Auckland date still has tickets – but these are very limited.

Based on pre-sales demand, Frontier last week added two more Auckland shows and a second Dunedin date.

This week, tickets were on resale platforms within hours, with four tickets advertised on resale website Viagogo for $2782.28.
