MTV Australia moves into the world of ticketing

MTV Australia has moved into the world of online ticketing, with the launch of an event and concert ticketing website, which will ticket major events across Australia.

MTVTIX is offering wait-lists, secure preferred seating, as well as premium packages which include merchandise, hotels, car transfers, and access to MTV-hosted after parties and pre-gig drinks.

"We love looking at ways to expand our brand and explore the unknown", Simon Bates, Director of MTV Australia & New Zealand, told TMN. "It’s good to push barriers and the great thing about the MTV brand is that we have the ability to do that. Our audience want to see music and have unique experiences and launching MTVTIX.com.au seemed like a good way to do this.

"The site will offer packages to a wide variety of concerts for our viewers to attend, often with an additional distinctive ‘MTV experience’, like a VIP pre party or unique transfers."

MTV’s Sydney team are running the marketing and promotion of the site, while the operation of the site is being handled by MTV partners, Sydney-based digital services company Pinpoint.
