Mushroom Group has announced a new artist management company, Role Model Artists.
Role Model Artists is headed up by Matt Gudinski, who launched Mushroom’s label and management firm Illusive Entertainment Group in 2002. Illusive's co-founder Adam Jankie is Role Model Artists’ director and senior artist manager, and Mushroom artist managers Jon St Clair (Lurch & Chief, Mossy, Pearls, Slum Sociable), Tig Huggins (Total Giovanni) and Cara McDonald (Lila Gold) have also joined the fold.
The company launches with eight artists: Bliss N Eso, Eso’s solo project, Lila Gold, Lurch & Chief, Mossy, Pearls, Slum Sociable and Total Giovanni.
Matt Gudinski told TMN: "Each talent manager who is a part of Role Model Artists will manage their own hand-picked boutique roster, but the overall company aims to have a very diverse roster of artists and stable of managers."
The company gets its official launch during Bigsound on September 9 at the Woolly Mammoth Alehouse. Kicking off at 12:30pm, the free event for Bigsound delegates will feature performances by Slum Sociable, Pearls and Mossy.
