The catalogues of two of America’s greatest songwriters will now be represented by Music Sales for Australia and New Zealand.

Jay Livingston is considered one of the last of the great songwriters of Hollywood, and together with his writing partner he penned iconic songs for film, television and more.

Among his standards include ’Que Sera Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)’, ’Silver Bells’, ’Tammy’, ’Bonanza’ and ’Mister Ed’, and his songs have sold in access of 400 million.

Livingston also has three Academy Awards to his name.

He’s joined by Jimmy Webb, a legendary songwriter who wrote songs including ’MacArthur Park’, ’Up, Up And Away’, ’By The Time I Get To Phoenix’, and ’Galveston.

His catalogue of songs have been performed by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Elvis Presley, Isaac Hayes, Art Garfunkel, Linda Ronstadt and R.E.M.

"Representing the songwriting of both Jay Livingston and Jimmy Webb is a massive honour," said Music Sales Australia managing director Jane English.

"Livingston /Evans stayed together longer than any other songwriting team. Despite their first seven years in New York achieving minimal success, their opportunity to move to Hollywood in 1944 kickstarted their phenomenal success.

"Who doesn’t Know Que Sera Sera, and how about “A horse is a horse of course of course”? As for Jimmy Webb, we represent all his newer songs and we are so looking forward to offering them to just the right deserving Aussie and Kiwi artists."

The catalogues are available at the Music Sales Australia website now.
