Allegations of sexual abuse have been directed at musicians in Newcastle and Perth.

32-year old singer Daniel Hanson (known as Jimmy Hanson) is the frontman for Falling For Beloved and We Built Atlantis.

As News Corp reports, he is set to Newcastle Local Court on October 24 and is currently in remand.

NSW police filed 10 charges against the man.

These include four counts of aggravated sexual assault - victim under 16, two counts of indecent assault, one count of incite to commit an act of indecency with a victim 16 years and over, and three counts of common assault.

They allege he groomed females in the Hunter district aged between 14 and 20 after meeting them at shows, when he performed between 2008 and 2014.

Earlier in the week, Mandurah, WA-based band Good Doogs announced on Facebook that their drummer/manager Michael Grainger had been dropped from the band, and that they were pulling out of liv performances.
