Over a dozen musicians are set to take the #StopAdani campaign to Bluesfest Byron Bay, publicly showing their opposition to the proposed Adani mega coal mine from being built in Central Queensland.
The John Butler Trio, Ziggy Alberts, All Our Exes Live In Texas, William Crighton, Dog Trumpet and more are set to fly the #StopAdani flag as they perform across Bluesfest's stages.
As part of Green Music Australia, there'll be #StopAdani banners and t-shirts around, while the artists will be speaking to their audiences about joining the fight to stop the mine.
"Coal has had its time," says John Butler. "We need to give renewables everything we've got now. We must stop this mine.
"If we allow Adani to go ahead, the mine will not only be the one of the world's
largest, it will be one of our generation's greatest regrets.
“We owe it our children, and their children’s children, to make sure this
environmentally reckless mine never sees the light of day”.
