native tongue strikes deal with pulse publishing

Australasian publisher Native Tongue has signed a sub-publishing deal with Pulse Publishing for Australia and New Zealand.

Pulse was started five years ago by producers Josh Abraham (P!nk, 30 Seconds To Mars, Shakira) Scott Cutler and Anne Preven (Madonna, Beyonce, Katy Perry). It now has 70 songwriters, producers and artists on its roster.

They include hitmakers Bonnie McKee (Perry, Spears, Cher, Ke$ha), Christian “Bloodshy” Karlsson (Madonna, Spears, Galantis, Miike Snow), Tim Pagnotta (Neon Trees, Walk The Moon), Oliver Goldstein (Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera), Tony Maserati (Beyonce, P!nk, Lady Gaga, Robin Thicke), and Anne Preven (Madonna, Miley Cyrus).

Pulse also has its own film and TV division, run by Joe Rangel, the former head of EMI Film & TV where he specialised in syncs for the likes of Katy Perry, The Beatles, Kanye West, and Coldplay.

With ex-Columbia Records VP, Maria Egan heading up their creative team, Pulse is also developing new talent. These include BØRNS, whose debut EP from last year on Interscope includes the triple j spun 10,000 Emerald Pools.

DJ and producer Blood Diamonds is signed to Skrillex's OWSLA label and recently collaborated with Madonna, Ellie Goulding, Grimes, Tinashe and Lupe Fiasco. Peter Thomas co-wrote and produced Betty Who's major label debut album Take Me When You Go. CJ Baran is a pop writer brought to Pulse as a partnership with hitmaker Max Martin.

Pulse recently formed a joint venture with Rick Rubin and an exclusive partnership with Creative Nation, the Nashville based music publisher and management company owned and operated by Beth and Luke Laird, and home to multi-Platinum songwriters Natalie Hemby (Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban), Barry Dean (Little Big Town, Ingrid Michaelson), and Luke Laird (Kacey Musgraves, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton).
