Neil Young’s Pono Music Player was finally made available for purchase last week and Showbiz411 has reported he’s already got the Beatles catalogue on board for his music store.

Keep in mind, it took the Beatles nine years to join iTunes and they haven’t budged on their decision not to join the streaming market, despite John Lennon’s solo work being made available on Spotify last year.

The report said Paul McCartney is supervising the transfer of the entire catalogue, which will be made available to purchase and download onto the PonoPlayer. It has 128GB of memory, uses high-quality FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) as its format, and can store 100 to 500 high-resolution digital-music albums. Australian buyers can pre-order the $399 player for a February delivery here

After a ten-year process from inception to product, Young’s Pono Music Store launched on January 6 with a library of over 2 million songs from the three major labels, in full 192kHz and 24 bit resolution.
