nova teams with shazam for trending tracks show

This Sunday, Nova Entertainment is launching Nova’s New Music Show Powered by Shazam.

Paul Jackson, NOVA Entertainment’s Group Program Director said, “Nova is renowned for driving the music charts. This show will give listeners the first taste of future hits and uncover artists that will become stars.”

With Justin Smith fronting the new show, Nova has partnered with Shazam, the app that identifies music and which they say is used by more than 100 million users every month.

Steve Sos, Shazam VP of Asia Pacific said, “Globally our users Shazam over 20 million times a day and locally hundreds of thousands of Australian music lovers do the same. The quality of data that such user engagement generates underpins our contribution to this new and exciting partnership with Nova.  We are genuinely excited to be partnering with one Australia’s most progressive and innovative radio Networks and look forward to seeing where else we can take the relationship.”

Nova’s New Music Show Powered by Shazam airs on Sundays from 4pm on the Nova Network.

This is Shazam’s second deal with a radio network, last year SCA worked with them with the Shazam Top 20 across their network.
