Hughesy & Kate are back at Nova
Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes and Kate Langbroek will return to Nova airways during the September survey break.
Hughesy & Kate will be on breakfast for Nova Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide from September 22, while all the normal teams take a holiday.
Kate Langbroek said, “I can’t wait to return to the scene of the crime with my Number 1 accomplice, Hughesy.”
While Hughesy added, “Although these weeks on Nova are great fun, until I started doing holiday fill-ins I had no appreciation for just how many holidays radio people have.”
Nova Perth’s listeners will enjoy Nathan, Nat & Shaun Reheated.
Nova Entertainments national drive show Kate, Tim & Marty are on also on a well-earned break and its business as usual for Smallzy’s Surgery during the survey break, On-Air each night as normal across the group.

Southern Cross Austereo releases statement on UK nurse inquest
Southern Cross Austereo released a statement with the conclusion of the inquest into Nurse, Jacintha Saldanha. SCA, while taking full responsibility for broadcasting the prank call has acknowledged that the announcers at the centre, being Mel Greig and Michael Christian “were not the final decision makers about whether the call went to air.”
SCA has also donated $500,000 to a trust fund for the benefit of the Saldanha family.
MediaWorks New Zealand new group appointment
MediaWorks has appointed Andrew Szusterman as Group Content and Entertainment Brand Director.
The new role is charged with creating the cross-platform strategy for MediaWorks’ entertainment content and brands across the company’s television, radio and digital assets, as well as developing new content and revenue opportunities.
Andrew has been Group Programming Director for MediaWorks Radio for the past three years. He was also co-Executive Producer for the first season of TV3’s The X Factor NZ.
