Sophie Monk quits 2DayFM
Sophie Monk has quit the 2DayFM breakfast show. SCA Head of Content Craig Bruce has confirmed Sophie’s exit telling Radio Today: "Sophie resigned from breakfast a couple of weeks back. Jules and Merrick are both aware of her decision. We’re all completely comfortable with her position."
Rumours have been rife that the ‘Jules, Merrick & Sophie’ show will be axed to be replaced with ’Dan & Maz’, to make way for ’Hamish & Andy’ to return to national drive, and this appears to increase the likelihood of that being the case.
2GB PD David Kidd exits
After three-and-a-half years David Kidd, Program Director of Sydney’s Number #1 Commercial Radio station 2GB has been made redundant.

Macquarie Radio Network executive chairman Russell Tate confirmed the move to The Australian . “Redundancy is a redundancy. It’s an internal matter that I won’t be commenting on,’’ he said.
According to reports, he would not detail the strategy behind making the position of Program Director redundant. They also report that staff were being advised shortly.
RadioToday reached out to Macquarie Radio Network’s PR team and they advised "There are no further details available as it’s an internal matter."

Teens switch off radio
Radio is losing the battle with teen listeners. A recent US study has showed that only 16% of teens listen to radio. Pandora was actually higher than radio for the first time at 18% and MP3’s including iPod, iTunes and downloaded music was 42%.
