Wavves have finally cemented a release date on their forthcoming album V, which is set to be released on October 2. After finally sorting out the details of the album's release, as well as engaging in a Twitter rant last week with parent label Warner Bros Records, everything is now in motion for this album to put Wavves on the map. The album's lead single Way Too Much was released earlier last week, ahead of schedule and to the label's dismay, setting the standard of what to expect on their fifth album.

The US outfit have opted for a much cleaner production style akin to their previous record Afraid Of Heights though it definitely won't be lacking in powerful, distortion-fueled riffs. Wavves has seen little chart success in regards to airplay, though it’s been quite some time since their last solo release, (they had a recent collaboration album with Cloud Nothings) and a lot has happened. They last visited our shores in 2013 as a part of Splendour In The Grass, pushing their reach to plenty more Australians, as well as having sync deals with Grand Theft Auto 5, writing a song specifically for the game, hosting an in-game radio station and recently collaborating with Rockstar Games again with a competition to create the music video to their track Leave within GTA 5’s Rockstar Editor. This has further pushed the band into the public eye much quicker than any amount of rigorous touring in the same amount of time. V is set to be Wavves’ most commercially successful album to date.

Dogs At Bay
(MUSHROOM) Out August 21

Adelaide Aussie rock band Bad//Dreems are to release debut album Dogs At Bay on August 21 through Ivy League Records. The LP's two singles that have already been service, Cuffed & Collared and Hiding To Nothing, have both seen success on alternative radio with an almost sold out tour for the first single, as well as a new tour recently announced for the album. Dogs At Bay sees production duties handed over to Mark Opitz, an incredibly decorated producer who has worked with the likes of AC/DC, INXS, Cold Chisel and more. His influence is obvious in the released singles thus far, his work provides an extra punch to the Australian pub rock riffs and vocals that characterise this band. The album has been described by bassist James Bartold as “[…] just four blokes having a good honest crack really”, perfectly encapsulating the ethos of the band. Dogs At Bay is already shaping up to be the group's most successful yet.
