Paul McCartney confirms Aussie tour, will announce dates in Facebook Live tomorrow

Following the not-so-cryptic tweets from Frontier Touring earlier this week, featuring the above image, Paul McCartney has confirmed his Australian and New Zealand tour. 

In a Facebook Live fan event hosted by Tim Minchin, McCartney will be announcing tour dates, venues, and ticketing info, as well as answering a selection of questions that fans have been encouraged to submit via McCartney’s Facebook page. 

Rumours suggest that the Australian tour will take place in December this year after the North and South American leg of the tour, currently scheduled from July to October. 

The erstwhile Beatle played several dates in Japan last month; when these were announced last year, rumours swirled that he’d stop by our shores, to no avail. 

McCartney will be returning to the Australian stage for the first time in 24 years. He was due to play two dates in Melbourne in 2002, but cancelled these after the Bali bombings, citing the national mood of mourning rather than celebration.
