This year Sounds Australia delivered an epic 16 Aussie bands to the SXSW crowd - well they tried to, anyway. With severe weather warnings sweeping the Austin region in the afternoon, and the BBQ set in Brush Square Park, unfortunately Gold Class cut their set short, and DZ Deathrays and Andy Clockwise missed out completely.

On the upside, there was free BBQ for all, as a delightfully laid back crowd took in the delightfully ’Newcastle’ Gooch Palms, rockers Stonefield, the ever-popular DMA’S and guitar-shredder Harts while the sun still shined in the early afternoon.

See below for a few pics we took at the Aussie BBQ’s 13th year at SXSW.
