PRESS RELEASE:

With just a week to go until the Screen Music Awards make their return to Melbourne, APRA AMCOS and the AGSC have confirmed details of the presenters and performers who will take part in the screen composer’s night of nights at the Melbourne Recital Centre on Thursday 12 November.

The event will feature host Rob Carlton along with presenters that include actor and songwriter Sophie Lowe who is currently on screen as Kitty in the ABC 6 part drama series The Beautiful Lie, and David Field, one of Australia’s most respected character actors (Chopper, Two Hands, Getting’ Square and most recently The Rover). Film director (Kenny), writer, producer, editor and actor (Animal Kingdom) Clayton Jacobson will be also appear as guest presenter, along with producer (Japanese Story, Irresistible and The Dressmaker) and director Sue Maslin.

Actor Virginia Gay whose credits include roles in All Saints and Winners & Losers will join the presenter’s line-up for the 2015 event. APRA AMCOS Ambassador, singer, songwriter and occasional actor Clare Bowditch will also make a special appearance along with The Secret River producer Stephen Lubyand world-renowned, Golden Globe award winning screen composer, Lisa Gerrard.

Emmy Award winning composer Ashley Irwin returns as Musical Director for the 2015 Screen Music Awards and will lead an orchestra through the performance of excerpts of nominated compositions. Nominees Archie Roach and Shane Howard will perform their nominated song A Secret River (from The Secret River) and electronic outfit Go Freek and Dom Dolla will recreate Define from the Working Title feature film We Are Your Friends.
