sa govt offering producer mentoring sessions

The South Australian Government, through its Music Development Office, is introducing a mentoring program for the state’s most promising music producers next month.

The Producer Series sees high profile record producers, including internationally known expats, come to Adelaide for mentoring and possible collaboration. There are opportunities for SA musicians to participate in these full-day intensive professional development sessions.

The first two initiatives in The Producer Series are The Sam Dixon Sessions and The Fresh 92.7 EDM Sessions.

Originally from Adelaide, Samuel Dixon is a London-based APRA and ARIA-winning multi-instrumentalist (he’s Adele’s music director and plays bass in her band), songwriter and producer who’s worked with Christina Aguilera, Paloma Faith, The Presets, and Jack Savoretti. A regular collaborator with fellow Adelaide expat Sia Furler, they co-wrote with Aguilera for her 2010 album Bionic.

Dixon has also been recording recently with Ryan Adams, Jessie Ware, and Paolo Nutini.

Over four days (July 6 to 9). Dixon will mentor four producers that he will choose from applications.

The Fresh 92.7 EDM Sessions involves KLP: Sydney-based producer, songwriter, vocalist, DJ and triple j’s House Party host Kristy Lee Peters. She’s been regularly working with Australian and overseas collaborators, results which topped Hype Machine and Japan’s Electronic Chart.
