Melbourne duo This Way North are bringing back their event Sass The Patriarchy.

It’s primarily a night of inclusivity and gender diversity in the music industry, discussing the positive steps that have been taken this year and strategies for the future.

It will be held on Wednesday February 6 at the Northcote Social Club, and open to all Melbourne’s music community who want to promote equality.

Performing are Simona Castricum, Thando, Race Rage and This Way North with an art exhibition by Bode Burnout.

Hosted by Grace Kindellan (Triple R) and Jacey Ashton (Red Brigade), the 20-minute discussion component will focus on issues such as equal representation on festival line-ups (and all line-ups), how to support more women/ gender diverse people taking industry roles such as sound engineers, producers, radio hosts and managers, and continuing the efforts to make places of work and play, safe and inclusive.
