For one night only – April 12 – Australian fans and those around the world can see Distant Sky – Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Live In Copenhagen in 500 cinemas.

Directed by award winning filmmaker David Barnard, it was filmed at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena last October as part of a world tour which saw the band unleashing their new album Skeleton Tree along with their back catalogue.

The blurb for the release goes: “The band’s first shows in 3 years provoked an ecstatic response in fans, critics and band alike, renewing a profound and intimate relationship wherever they played.”

The tour started in Australia in January 2017 before tearing across the USA and ending in Europe.

The 135-minute film’s global screening is handled by Trafalgar Releasing.

Since its launch in 2006 as Picturehouse Entertainment, Trafalgar Releasing has brought to the large screen Jonas Åkerlund’s Rammstein: Paris, Gavin Elder’s David Gilmour Live at Pompeii and Dick Carruthers’ Black Sabbath: The End of The End.

Trafalgar Releasing slate includes Monty Python Live (Mostly), The Rocky Horror Show Live, Roger Waters The Wall, The Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company’s live season, One More Time With Feeling (another collaboration with Cave, directed by Andrew Dominik), Alan Bennett’s Diaries Live and John le Carré Live: An Evening with George Smiley.
