sia goes platinum with big girls cry

PRESS RELEASE:

Singer / songwriter and pop force of nature Sia has added another feather to her cap today with the announcement that current single “Big Girls Cry”, from her seminal album ‘1000 Forms Of Fear’, has officially reached ARIA accredited platinum status.

As the third single released from ‘1000 Forms Of Fear’, “Big Girls Cry” has been sold more than 70,000 times in Australia alone. More life was breathed into the track in April of this year when Sia released an official video clip for “Big Girls Cry”, featuring her 'mini me' Maddie Ziegler in the third and final collaboration between the two. Sia also performed the song live on Channel 7’s Sunrise program in April.

“Big Girls Cry” came from good stock, with ‘1000 Forms Of Fear’ also delivering zeitgeist penetrating hits such as “Chandelier” which attracted three of Sia’s four Grammy nominations and “Elastic Heart”, which featured Shia Labeouf in its compelling video clip. As a whole, the album debuted at #1 on both the ARIA charts in Australia and the Billboard charts in the USA as well as earning Sia accolades of Album Of The Year, Best Female Artist, Best Pop Release and Best Video at the 2014 ARIA awards

Sia also took out APRA Songwriter Of The Year in 2015 for the third consecutive year – the first artist to do so.

‘1000 Forms Of Fear’ is out now on Monkey Puzzle Records through Inertia
