PRESS RELEASE:

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Jason Wade, the lead vocalist and principal songwriter of multi-platinum-selling band Lifehouse.

The Los Angeles group scored a Billboard Hot 100 Single of the Year with their breakthrough hit “Hanging By A Moment” and went on to achieve 10 Top 20 hits on the U.S. Hot AC chart, all written or co-written by Wade. They have sold more than 15 million records worldwide.

Wade’s agreement with Sony/ATV marks a new chapter in his already illustrious career with him set to utilize his immense songwriting and production talents to write for other artists as well as collaborate with other top songwriters.

Sony ATV Co-President, U.S. Rick Krim said: “I have known Jason since the release of Lifehouse’s debut album and have always been a great admirer of his immense songwriting talent. To be able to be his publisher as he embarks on this next phase in his career is truly a thrill for me and the whole Sony/ATV team, and we are so happy to have him join our family.”

Jason Wade’s manager Jude Cole said: “Jason is a gifted and prolific writer who’s been touring and supporting his own hit songs since he was 18 years old.  This is a new chapter for an artist who could never be satisfied running on the fumes of his past. I know he’s thrilled to be working with Rick and the whole Sony/ATV team and I expect great things to come from this partnership.”

Jason Wade said: “After years of focusing on my band, this is a much-needed and exciting change in my life. My attraction to music has always been about the song, and in the world of songs I consider Sony/ATV to be the best of the best.”

Lifehouse broke through in 2001 with their debut, Wade-penned single “Hanging By A Moment”, which reached No. 2 on the BillboardHot 100 in the U.S. and topped the Alternative, Adult Top 40 and Radio Songs charts. It went on to win a Billboard Music Award for Hot 100 Single of the Year and was included on the band’s introductory album No Name Face, which was certified for double-platinum sales in the U.S.

The group’s next album Stanley Climbfall sold more than 1 million copies just in the States and was followed into the Top 10 by the studio set Lifehouse, which included the top five pop hit and AC No. 1 “You And Me”. Their run of hits then continued with the group’s fourth and fifth albums Who We Are and Smoke & Mirrors, which between them included the Top 10 songs “First Time”, “Whatever It Takes”, “Broken”, “Halfway Gone” and “All In”.

Lifehouse’s sixth album Almería included a duet with Natasha Bedingfield and a guest appearance from Frampton Comes Alive guitarist, songwriter and vocalist Peter Frampton, while their most recent album Out Of The Wasteland was released in May last year and debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Independent Albums chart.
