Sunshine Coast venue begins crowdfunding to be a good neighbour
“Because we respect our neighbours, over the next few months we're crowdfunding for money, time and materials to soundproof and insulate the walls of The Shared."

A not-for-profit Sunshine Coast music venue, The Shared, wants to be a good neighbour – and has started a crowdfunding campaign to introduce soundproofing before any complaints begin.
The venue hosts live music on the weekends, and is situated in a 100-year-old converted stock feed building in the middle of Yandina.
Venue owners explained, “Sometimes our awesome music escapes the back walls of The Shared.
“Because we respect our neighbours, over the next few months we're crowdfunding for money, time and materials to soundproof and insulate the walls of The Shared.
“Acoustics engineers have told us we'll need $15,000 to do the work.”
The venue is also accepting donations of insulation materials, skills and time to help with the project.
Offers have come in from carpenters willing to lend a hand to a daycare centre which has started a collection of egg cartons as part of the soundproofing exercise.
