Multi-talented singer, songwriter and producer Surahn crashes back onto the scene by sharing brand new track and video for “Wanted to Fly” via his own label imprint Utopian State. The track drops ahead of his debut LP 'Into The Distance' - set to be released early next year - and ahead of a nationwide tour kicking off with a single launch in his hometown Adelaide tomorrow night.
A founding member of dance band The Swiss, long-time touring member of Empire of the Sun, current member of Favoured Nations, previous collaborator with multi-Grammy-award and ARIA-winning artistsKimbra and Usher, as well as a guest vocalist for dance duo Flight Facilities on their most recent tour of the States – it is safe to say that talent like Surahn’s is rare to come by.
Not a stranger to Australian crowds, the Adelaide-born Surahn Sidhu, formerly known as Sidwho?, was quick to rise to fame as one of Australia’s most prodigious, upcoming musical talents with his 2012 DFA Records cut “Watching the World”.
“Wanted To Fly” it is the first listen in a while from the star collaborator’s solo project and is taken from Surahn’s forthcoming self-recorded and written debut 'Into The Distance' expected to drop February 2015. A glorious psych jam of beautiful chord progressions, superb song writing and a blissful finish, expect the track to shine in a live setting.
With a national tour hitting Adelaide, Queensland, WA, Melbourne and Sydney and a debut solo record on the way – plus further shows planned with Flight Facilities, including a stint as guest vocalist for their upcoming Melbourne Symphony Orchestra show – expect big things to come your way, from SA.
