PRESS RELEASE:
From Boy and Bear to Emma Louise, The Veronicas and Holy Holy, The Seed Fund has played a major role in fostering a strong and vibrant Australian music industry. Founded by Co-Directors John Butler and Danielle Caruana, the not-for profit fund has helped more than 400 budding artists transition to self-sustained professionals since its conception just 11 years ago. Now, for the very first time, The Seed Fund is calling on the broader public for support, kicking off its very first Pozible campaign today, Monday September 14.
An extraordinary selection of artists have offered their support with the likes of Tame Impala, Little May, Marlon Williams, Harry James Angus, John Butler, Clare Bowditch and more donating a range of goodies that includes contributions to the “Seedy Mixed Tape”, hand-penned notes, special video messages, merch and even intimate house concerts.
Other treats for all music lovers include an autographed Maton guitar and ukulele, Chugg Entertainment tickets to massive international shows, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival VIP tickets (not usually available to the general public) and an entire year’s worth of free shows at Australia’s premiere venues, Woolly Mammoth and 170 Russell St. There’s also a range of services offered by our industry’s most experienced movers and shakers from managers to publicists and lawyers. In short, you’ll be spoilt for choice with how you can support Australian music.

The Seed Fund supports artists and managers across the country and all funds raised will go towards direct artist grants and the trademark Management Workshop, an industry-renowned boot camp of knowledge-sharing between emerging managers and industry leaders. Funds will also support The Seed’s brand new partnership with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre Music Group and Bush Bands Business (BBBiz) – a crucial initiative that sends industry professionals to Alice Springs to mentor emerging musicians from remote communities.
