The Divinyls are reuniting for the first time since the death of singer Chrissie Amphlett in April 2013.
Guitarist and co-founder Mark McEntee has repeatedly turned down huge offers from promoters to tour with a replacement singer.
In this case, he is putting the band back together to close the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival on September 17 with a 30-minute set.
McEntee is co-owner of the Perth clothing line Wheels & Dollbaby, which his partner Melanie Greensmith founded and is lead designer for.
The label will celebrate its 30th anniversary at the fashion festival.
The West Australian reported that the lineup will also include original members Richard Harvey and Rick Grossman, and joined by The Preatures’ Izzi Manfredi and Jack Moffitt.
The reunited band will play before 1600 guests in the new Fashion Paramount at Crown Perth’s Pyramid.

McEntee told The West Australian, “They wanted to, you know, celebrate Melanie’s 30th for Wheels & Dollbaby.
“[And] it’s my contribution, isn’t it, to her label and her tenacity and her originality and her endurance.
“Because really her label, Wheels & Dollbaby, came out of a whole rock thing, you know?
In the label’s early days, Amphlett and McEntee would drop by every time they visited Perth, and sported Greensmith’s creations onstage and at TV and awards appearances.
Manfredi and Moffitt are the latest in a long lineup of musicians to play under The Divinyls’ name.
No less than eleven members have gone through the lineup, with a further 16 players joining them as part of the touring band.
The Preatures’ second album Girlhood is dropping in a few weeks.
To celebrate they’re running a competition where fans can join their launch gig at a secret location.
Those who come up with the best answers to the question “If you could ask The Preatures one weird question what would it be?” will get transported to the mystery gig.
