the veronicas calm down social media furore

“Perth you are insane. That was lit. We’re all as sweaty & wet as each other now!” The Veronicas tweeted after their set at the sold out Full Moon Party at Perth gay club the Court Hotel last Saturday.

The duo were part of a bill that included DJs as Some Blonde, DJ Wasteland, Timbee in The Overflow and Angry Buda, along with four drag shows along with body painters and topless barmen.

However, they weren’t to know that a social media row would break out over the fact they’d just played a 20-minute set. Seventy attendees, who’d paid $42 each, were not impressed as Lisa and Jessica Origliasso were advertised to play for 40 minutes.

The Beaufort Street venue said it was aware of some patrons’ concerns, that The Veronicas were supposed to have done 40 minutes and said it would investigate.

Yesterday, the venue and the twins released a joint statement. Due to a “miscommunication”, the agent who booked them had told them they only had to do 20 minutes.

The statement went: "The Veronicas had the greatest time getting wild with you all and loved hanging out for the rest of the night. If they knew any of you were disappointed, they would have jumped back on stage to see you all."

It added, "The Court and The Veronicas are doing their best to come up with a solution as we both love happy fans." That it asked attendees to keep their entry wristbands has lead to speculation the duo might return to Perth for a “top-up” show.
