2022 will see Sydney welcome a new pop-up, outdoor music venue named The Village Green, thanks to live music production company Architects Of Entertainment.

The Village Green will make the Tempe Recreation Reserve in the city's inner west its home from Friday, January 21 all the way through to Sunday, February 27.

The venue's co-owners, Nathaniel Holmes and Haydn Johnston, claim the venue is a first of its kind for the local music industry, and is a result of the pandemic and subsequent restrictions.

"We now have a completely unique parcel of land, for six weeks, during the best part of summer, fully licensed, and ready for outdoor live music and dancing – it’s a dream come true,” they said.

“The Village Green is a direct response to the COVID restrictions affecting the live music and events industries. What we’ve created here in Tempe is an outdoor venue capable of accommodating crowd capacities that most indoor venues in Sydney are still unable to achieve.

"The city is more than ready for a return to live music and we’ve got the perfect spot for it.”

The venue's capacity stands at 2,800 people, and the lineup of artists booked to play the event is set to be revealed in early December.
