Just over eight months following his move to Sony Music Entertainment from Universal Music Australia, Tim Kelly has exited his position as General Manager Marketing Asia Pacific.

Kelly confirmed the news with Billboard, which reported Kelly is “keeping his career options wide-open.”

Prior to his nine-year stint as General Manager Marketing at UMA, Kelly worked as Marketing Director at Sony from 1999 to 2004. Before that, Kelly was based in the UK, where he co-founded influential indie label One Little Indian. He also previously worked as Head of International at Rough Trade Records, and Managing Director of Pinnacle Labels.

His return to Sony on June 2 last year saw him manage marketing campaigns for international and local artists in the Asia Pacific region.

In a statement issued to TMN, Sony Music Australia and Tim Kelly said: "Tim's departure was amicable and the relationship remains very strong."
