Inertia Music has today announced the appointment of Tim Kelly as its Managing Director.

Kelly’s previous roles include General Manager Marketing at Sony Music, General Manager Marketing at UMA and roles in the UK including co-founder of iconic indie label One Little Indian, Head of International at Rough Trade Records, and Managing Director of Pinnacle Labels.

Kelly will use his more than two decades of music industry experience to oversee Inertia Music’s marketing, publicity, sales and distribution teams. Based in Sydney, Kelly will report to The Inertia Group’s CEO, Colin Daniels.

The appointment follows Daniels’ promotion from MD to CEO, announced earlier this month. Colins oversees Inertia’s music division and its interests in publisher Gaga Music, management company IE Inertia and concert promoter Handsome Tours.

Colin Daniels said, “I am very pleased to have Tim Kelly join Inertia Music’s management team.  Tim has an impressive history as a music executive and, most importantly to us, he has a love of independent music!"

Tim Kelly said, "It’s great to be joining Ashley (Sellers, Director), Colin and the team at Inertia and I look forward to working with their exciting roster of artists and labels."

Kelly begins his role on Monday April 27.
