TMN celebrates two decades in this ever-shifting music industry by taking a look back at the key moments – both triumphant and tumultuous – in the Australian music business.

2011
VIDEO HITS IS CANCELLED

Two and a half decades of dedicatedly soundtracking bleary weekend mornings were abruptly brought to an end in July 2011, when Channel Ten cancelled Video Hits. Host Faustina “Fuzzy” Agolley referred to the cancellation at the time as “purely a business decision rather than a content one,” which seems puzzling considering the cheap production costs, loyal viewership and low-pressure timeslot. The station has yet to offer a music- based alternative in its place.
