travel management company tag launches app

Global independent travel and event management company The Appointment Group (TAG), has announced its own touring app.

In a world first for the live music business, The TAG Global Touring App is targeted at tour managers and personnel in production; it taps into TAG’s bespoke software programs, which are linked from country to country.

Available on iPad, desktop, iPhone and laptop, the app currently features all of an artist’s travel itinerary related to accommodation including vouchers, details and hotel information and budgets.

TAG told TMN phase two of the app is already underway and will be made available in the last quarter of 2015. It will add new features including air travel information like seating preference, meal requests, frequent flier numbers, riders etc. and ancillary services.

The app also has email and PDF functionality, a map function to show distances between destinations and the ability to manage multiple tours and sync information with relevant personnel.

Shane Barr, Managing Director at TAG Australia told TMN: "In this digital age everyone wants information which is easily accessible, the Touring App will allow tour managers to have all information in one place, in digital form, essentially they will no longer require a printed tour book. The app is also self-populating so manual entry is not required. I feel this definitely expands TAG's offerings."

Barr assures users the app's settings are designed to maintain security: "Each person who needs information from the app will have an individualised secure login," he told TMN. "Each person, depending on the level of access they require will then then have settings adjusted to their user profile. There are various accessibility options such as, view only access, view and request changes, or full access where budgets etc. will be able to be viewed. The latter would generally be the Tour Managers setting."

TAG operates on a global level out of its offices in Sydney, Melbourne, London, Manchester, New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles and most recently Singapore. TAG works with the management behind artists including Kylie Minogue, Foo Fighters and Coldplay.

The app will be made available via the Apple App Store soon. In the meantime any clients wanting to use or test drive the app should contact infoau@appointmentgroup.com.
