triple j introduces new tv and film reviewer

Last month, That Movie Guy Marc Fennell’s departure from triple j sparked a nationwide search for a worthy replacement.

The station amassed 1,300 applications from keen media consumers around the country giving their tips on the best TV, film, and web series’ they’ve been watching.

Today, triple j have announced Amelia Navascues as their new TV & Film Reviewer.

TV and movies have played a big role in the 22-year-old’s life thus far, referring to the arts as a crucial tool for diversity and inclusion.

When it comes to TV shows, Navascues has a soft spot for Arrested Development and Peep Show and is currently watching Kevin Spacey‘s political thriller House Of Cards.

Obviously a big Spacey fan, her favourite film is American Beauty while citing Adam Sandler as the perfect candidate to play her in a movie about her life.

Navascues is not adverse to a tearjerker either, admitting she’s cried watching a health insurance ad, claiming the tight scripts, compelling narratives and good cinematography were of film quality.
