Brisbane’s Hannah Shepherd, better known as her stage name Airling, first won our hearts earlier this year when she uploaded two songs to her Unearthed profile, Ouroboros and The Runner – two beautiful, sparse pieces of downtempo electro-tinged indie held together by her haunting vocals. We loved those tracks so much that a few months ago we awarded her the Unearthed spot for this year’s Splendour In The Grass festival, and unsurprisingly she killed it.

Now we have the first new taste of her debut EP Love Gracefully, the single Wasted Pilots, and for this one Hannah has turned it up a notch! While melodically it’s centered around a bright, uplifting chorus, lyrically it tells the story of a character who has lost everything. Wasted Pilots is another exciting step forward for Airling, one which has only further whet our growing appetite for what else is in store.
