Last Thursday on the eve of his first show in the country as a part of Sydney's VIVID Festival, local dance legend Flume dropped by the triple j studios to give Veronica & Lewis the world premiere of the first taste off his hugely anticipated sophomore album.
A self-proclaimed love letter to Sydney, the new track Some Minds hints at the more organic approach Harley Streten is taking with his upcoming LP, telling triple j to expect a more dynamic range with his new material. Some Minds features guest vocals from Miike Snow's Andrew Wyatt, who teamed up with Flume in New York and after only a few hours had written and recorded his mesmerizing lyrics, jumping on the melancholic vibe of the track and being influenced by a recent breakup.
Flume gave us no hints for when his new album would be released, only saying that he won't be rushed: "I'm just building it and building it and building it until it's perfect and then I'm going to release it". Needless to say we'll be the first to let you know of any news that develops.
