HERMITUDE
Through The Roof
Blue Mountain’s favourite sons Hermitude are back and kicking off 2015 in a big way – not only did they join The Presets on stage at triple j’s Beat The Drum concert in Sydney’s Domain last Friday, but this week they premiered a huge new single on Good Nights with Linda Marigliano called Through The Roof.
Teaming up with New Zealand singer Young Tapz, who the Hermitude boys stumbled across on SoundCloud after their initial vocalist fell through, the new song booms out of your speakers with a powerful dance beat and Latin and Afro-Cuban influences, reminiscent of something off the Mad Decent label but with an uniquely Australian flair. However as Hermitude told Veronica & Lewis on Wednesday, the rest of their album is not 100% like Through The Roof – they took a song-by-song approach to writing the LP which is sure to bring with it a variety of sounds and styles, and a bunch of surprises. The yet-to-be-named album is due for release in May, with an Australian tour following it.
