Hello my official Summer Jam of 2015/2016! Columbia-via-Virginia singer and song-writer Kali Uchis released her debut EP Por Vida as a free download back in February to critical acclaim, but in the last month prolific LA producer DJ Dahi (who’s written for Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Dr Dre to name a few) re-worked the killer single Ridin Round and turned it from a stripped back underground alt-pop track into an infectious, dub inspired summer stomper!

I cannot get enough of this song, it’s almost too good to be true; Dahi’s smoky reggae keys and percussion perfectly mesh with Kali’s sassy vocals and delivery, topped off by a great reprise from Canadian rapper Tory Lanez.

It’s a track which celebrates your past and everything you are, regardless of whether it’s good and bad, and to enjoy and accept these things. And it’s currently on repeat on my stereo.
