SUMMER FLAKE
Makes Me Wanna Cry

Adelaide musician Stephanie Crase has had the kind of musical career that makes most artists look lazy. She's played with just about every underrated indie rock outfit that's come out of Adelaide in the past decade. But her music as Summer Flake is arguably the best thing she's ever been involved with.

On its surface, a song like Makes me Wanna Cry sounds like a pretty standard, fairly simple indie rock song. But listen a little closer and you'll hear meticulous, effortless sounding harmonies, shimmering but restrained lead guitar and a knack for melody that can't be taught. Crase has a rare knack for writing this kind of music and making it sound easy. Hopefully plenty more people will discover this soon.
