TKAY MAIDZA
Ghost

The current queen of Adelaide Tkay Maidza graced the triple j airwaves earlier this week to premiere her new single, and the latest taste of her forthcoming debut LP.

Titled Ghost, Tkay teamed up with heavyweights Baauer, What So Not and George Maple to co-write her new jam, which shows off a trap-driven, darker side to the 19-year-old emcee.

Speaking to Veronica & Lewis, Tkay outlined the international nature surrounding the song-writing to Ghost (which began in Sydney, was tweaked in New York and finished off in LA) and how each of the collaborators added their own special flair to it: “[George Maple and I] wrote the chorus together and most of the melodies...What So Not, obviously he did all the production and every time the second half of the verse kicks in, that’s when Baauer added in the deep bass bits, which is what Baauer does”.

There’s still no definitive date for Tkay’s debut album release, but she told triple j it should be dropping around April or May 2016 – we’ll make sure to keep you posted!
