triple j Pick of the Week - ZHU x AlunaGeorge

There has been a flood of producers who have donned the “mysterious” / “no one has ever seen their face” / “who even is it?” guise over the past little while, and while I'm personally getting a bit over this secretive gimmick, there’s no denying that they’re making some pretty impressive dance music.

Sydney’s own Golden Features and Germany’s Claptone immediately come to mind, but LA-based ZHU definitley made his mark here at triple j when we first played his breakthrough track Faded 18 months ago. Now he’s back and he’s teaming up with UK duo AlunaGeorge on the driving new single Automatic.

It’s the first in a series of collaborations ZHU has made with some pretty impressive guests, including Skrillex, A-Trak, and our own Daniel Johns and Vancouver Sleep Clinic. With this first taste, ZHU once again pushes that deep house feel he’s become loved for, with the sultury vocals of AlunaGeorge bringing a new degree of edge to it.
