St. South
Get Good (Prod. by Koenski)

When St. South first pricked up our ears via the triple j Unearthed website in early 2013 it was with a gentle sleeper tune called Not Hopeless Yet.

It didn’t strike immediately but with some careful listening to the exquisite vocal layering it sunk under the skin and you could tell that this diminutive solo artist from Denmark, WA had plenty of potential. A couple of tunes later and St. South is delivering on that promise in a big way. The latest offering is Get Good and retains her sweet coo’d vocals and elegant touch but it’s also far developed from that first tune’s muted vibes.

This time the artist known to her folks as Olivia Gavranich confidently handles a chirpy beat from the teenage beatmaker she discovered while trawling triplejunearthed.com: Koenski, moving breezily along with its highs and lows. And just wait for the saxophone solo, it’s the cherry on top of this gorgeous, ear-wormy hit.
