By now your head’s probably spinning at the procession of new projects and bands that are spinning off from some well loved Australians acts. We’ve seen Little Red members break away to form bands like Naked Bodies, Major Tom & The Atoms and New Gods, a myriad of Middle East reincarnations and most recently former members of Hungry Kids Of Hungry continue on under new names like Rolls Bayce, Sans Parents and now Born Joy Dead, the brainchild of HKOH bassist Ben Dalton.

First emerging in May with a debut single Upside Down, Inside Out, Dalton and his Born Joy Dead bandmates have released a staggering new tune in Hey Blood. This little ripper clocks in at under four minutes and grips right from the start with a rush of distortion and over-driven noise. There’s softer moments and pop sensibilities running throughout but it’s those flashing spikes of noise that really hook the ear with an impossible grip.
