This song is scarily contagious and I’m really sorry (not sorry) about spreading the earborne disease that is Gill Bates’ Didn’t Mind. Once it enters your system you’re a bloody goner, you may as well pack up shop, leave your partner and enter a continuous state of Gill Bates worship. Even after rinsing Didn’t Mind and the Brisbane rapper’s first upload to Unearthed, the Allday-assisted She Knows, all week during Gill Bates’ feature artist stint I can’t quite put my finger on what exactly makes Didn’t Mind so effective and so immediate.

It might be the Gill’s relaxed raps that drip with charisma, or the repeated “ine, ine, ine” bits that are impossible to shake. It could also be the shimmering beat laid down by fellow Brisbane artist Feki. I dunno. It’s hard to really think straight when I talk about this song. So I’m gonna just stop and go put it on again.
