Le Pie
Secrets

Going from what the singer describes as a youth spent screaming and smashing as a vocalist/drummer in punk bands to Le Pie’s current neo-girl group sound might seem like an incongruous musical jump but this Sydney newcomer links the two adeptly. On her debut single Secrets you can hear that beneath the poppy disguise of coos and Spector-ian drum clap resides Le Pie’s ache and an introspective anguish perhaps channelled from her punk past.

However she’s coming to making music like this is besides the point, for me at least, I’m just psyched on the song itself which notched a five star review from yours truly as it appeared on Le Pie’s Unearthed page. File this somewhere between The Ronnettes, Adalita, Lana Del Rey, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Dum Dum Girls.
