British rockers Foals have pushed the envelope once more. On sophomore effort What Went Down Foals have dusted off the hypnotic plunges that made 2013's Holy Fire sit in the margin between rock and indie-funk. This time though, frontman Yannis Philippakis has ditched the panicked pace in parts, picking up theatrical bass grooves and growling, leg-opening whispers - but they're still doing that frenzied guitar noodling you love.

What Went Down has a hard act to follow, Holy Fire debuted at #1 on the ARIA chart and lead to festival headline slots in the UK. They shouldn't be worried however, this release is a towering addition any which way you look at it.
