FEATURE ALBUM

The Weeknd - Beauty Behind The Madness
[Universal]

A Platinum-selling, Billboard and ARIA #1, a spot on the over-hyped Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, a Grammy nomination and a VEVO Certified video (The Hills was viewed over 100m times) - these accolades may be propelling Abel Tesfaye into global ubiquity, but they're not the sum of his parts.

Tesfaye, who debuted in March 2011 with mixtape House of Balloons, is still channelling the slithering tremors of Michael Jackson; but on Beauty Behind The Madness the Canadian introduces his own syncopated strut. Over 14 tracks, with features from Lana Del Rey, Ed Sheeran and Labrinth, Tesfaye is multi-dimensional, fluid, but mostly, completely preceding his reputation.
