FEATURE ALBUM

Daniel Johns - Talk

[Eleven/EMI]

If you had told a 15-year-old Daniel Johns that he would one day try his hand at R'n'B and neo-soul, he may have laughed at you. Two decades following the release of Silverchair's debut LP Frogstomp, the band's frontman is set to unleash his first solo effort.

Eight-years in the making, Talk sees Johns team up with Lorde producer Joel Little on three tracks (Aerial Love, Cool on Fire, Warm Hands), hip-hop acts Styalz and M-Phazes on another three (Imagination, Chained, Faithless) and The Presets’ Julian Hamilton on two more (By Your Side, Dissolve). With a insatiable hunger for reinvention and an imperial list of credits, Johns reminds us of the major difference between interpreting influences rather than imitating them.
