It was pretty obvious from the start just how big an imprint this track would leave on the musical landscape of 2015, an eight minute odyssey that perfectly captured the grand vision Kevin Parker had for Tame Impala’s third album Currents.

Let It Happen was not just an ambitious track in itself, but a big leap in growth for Parker; a song in three parts, it weaves through French house, funk, 70s rock and a healthy dose of psychedelia while shaking off any preconceived conventions formed over the last two records.

Throughout the year, and even now, it’s a song that continues to open itself up to me in strange new ways, and one that I happily lose myself in over and over again
