Troye Sivan has revealed that he and Ariana Grande have recorded a song together, just head of his return home for a promotional tour in March.
The 22-year-old announced on Twitter: “Yes!!! The rumours are trumours! @arianagrande is my pop queen and I can’t wait for you guys to hear our song”.
The two met two years ago and have kept in touch.
Sivan, who grew up in Perth and is now based in Los Angeles, recounted asking her “Would you ever sing on this song? And she just did it.”
In a subequent interview on BBC Radio 1 with Nick Grimshaw he added, “First of all I just love the song but second of all I just love the person so, so much.
“I was so gagged when I got it and we made it happen.
“My favourite thing is not telling people who it is, and then starting to play the song and as soon as she starts to sing, everyone’s like ‘are you serious?’ Her voice is nuts!”

It is not known if the collaboration was for his second album, due later this year.
Before then, Sivan will touch down for a promotional tour, visiting Sydney and Melbourne from March 7 to March 9 for a number of major media engagements.
Another collaboration was with another pop queen, Carly Rae Jepsen.
But their “really cute pop song” won’t make the album, as “it doesn’t fit its vibe”.
He expanded, “There is truth in it, but we didn’t end up getting a song – we just hung out for the day and had a good time.
“There’s nothing coming it, but we’ve written together. Just good vibes, good friendship vibes.”
Meantime, his single ‘MY MY MY’ – written about his model boyfriend Jacob Bixenman – has gone gold in Australia.
It was most added to USA radio and has trended #1 video on YouTube and Twitter in Australia and the US.
He’s pleased that the feedback he’s getting is that the song is encouraging younger members of the LGBIT+ community to be comfortable about themselves.
Sivan returns to Australia for a promo visit to Sydney and Melbourne March 7 to 9, behind ‘MY MY MY’ and its live acoustic video.
He’s been on the promo trail in Europe and the UK, including the Brits, and in the US appeared on Saturday Night Live and Ellen.
The album is virtually finished, he’s mixing it at present, and says it’s more “mature” but “lighter”.
He exclaimed, “I’m so proud of this album. I feel like it’s the best thing I’ve ever made.
“I can’t wait to take it out on the road and tour it.”
